Who We Are

🏠 Jump Starter Hub

Jump Starter Hub is an independent automotive accessory review site focused exclusively on portable jump starters, battery chargers, and roadside power solutions. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer, and no brand can pay to influence our ratings or recommendations.

We started this site because we found it nearly impossible to find trustworthy, technically accurate information about portable jump starters online. Most review sites recycled manufacturer marketing copy or ranked products based on affiliate commission rates. We decided to build something better: a site where specs are verified, limitations are disclosed honestly, and reader trust matters more than a click.

  • Editorially independent. Every recommendation reflects our genuine assessment — no brand has ever paid to appear in a review or ranking on this site.
  • Technically rigorous. We verify peak amps, CCA ratings, battery chemistry, and safety certifications against manufacturer data sheets before publishing any spec claim.
  • Honest about how we earn. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and earn commissions when you buy through our links — at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Focused on US drivers. Our content is written for real-world US conditions: cold-weather starts, truck and SUV battery requirements, and products available on Amazon.com.
  • Continuously updated. Reviews are reviewed and refreshed when products change, new models launch, or reader feedback reveals information we got wrong.

Our Promise

Jump Starter Hub is supported through affiliate partnerships with retailers like Amazon. This means we earn a small commission when you buy through our links — but it never determines what we recommend. We will tell you when a product isn’t good enough, even if that costs us a commission.

What We Do

🏆 Four Things We Do Better Than Anyone

We specialise in exactly one niche — portable jump starters and roadside power — and we’ve built every process around doing it with more rigour and more honesty than any generalist site.

🔍
Independent Product Research
We research every product we cover using manufacturer data sheets, UL/CE/FCC certification records, and hundreds of verified Amazon purchaser reviews. No product appears in a buying guide without passing our technical checklist: peak amps verified, safety certifications confirmed, compatibility claims tested against known vehicle databases.
📖
Expert Buying Guides
Our buying guides are written for real decisions. “Best Jump Starter for a Diesel Truck” means we’ve actually worked out what CCA your truck needs, which lithium units deliver reliably in cold weather, and which brands have a track record of not degrading after 50 uses. We cut through marketing language to tell you what actually matters for your situation.
Head-to-Head Comparisons
Side-by-side model comparisons are one of the highest-value pages we produce. We compare specs that actually matter — peak amps vs. cranking amps, lithium vs. AGM chemistry, IP ratings, cable quality, and safety protections — not just which unit looks better in a photo. Our comparison methodology is documented publicly on our review methodology page.
💡
Knowledge Base & Safety Guides
Beyond product reviews, we maintain a comprehensive knowledge base covering jump starter safety, battery chemistry, troubleshooting dead starts, hybrid and EV battery guidance, and understanding what all the specs actually mean. Our goal is that readers leave this site genuinely more capable of dealing with a dead battery — not just with a product link.

2024 — The Beginning
Easy Jump Starter Launches
The site originally launched under the name Easy Jump Starter — a focused resource to help everyday drivers understand the jump starter market. The first batch of in-depth reviews goes live, covering the NOCO Boost series and early GOOLOO models. The founding philosophy: every spec claim gets verified against the manufacturer data sheet before it’s published.
🚀 Origin story
Early 2025 — Growing the Library
Knowledge Base Expands
Collin Morgan joins the editorial team as Senior Editor and researcher, significantly accelerating content production. The Knowledge Base grows to cover battery chemistry, cold-weather starting, hybrid-vehicle guidance, and safety certification explainers. Reader feedback drives a wave of improvements to the buying guide format — comparison tables with standardised spec rows replace informal prose comparisons.
👥 Team grows
Mid 2025 — Rebrand
Rebranded to Jump Starter Hub
The site rebrands from Easy Jump Starter to Jump Starter Hub to better reflect its ambition as a central authority resource — not just a quick-reference site. The new brand comes with an expanded editorial mandate: covering the full lifecycle of portable power, from choosing a jump starter to maintaining it, troubleshooting it, and knowing when to replace it.
🌟 Rebrand milestone
Late 2025 — Scale
2,000+ Articles Published
Jump Starter Hub crosses 2,000 published articles covering every major brand (NOCO, GOOLOO, HULKMAN, DEWALT, Schumacher, Clore Automotive), every vehicle type, and hundreds of individual product reviews. The brand comparison series launches — head-to-head guides that become the most-shared content on the site. Jon Langston’s byline reaches 131 published reviews and guides.

Video Reviews & Deeper Testing
We’re investing in hands-on product testing documentation and video content to provide the Experience signals our readers — and Google’s quality systems — rightly expect. Physical testing of shortlisted units and a dedicated YouTube channel for demonstration videos are both in planning. The mission remains the same: never get stranded with a dead battery because of bad advice.

What We Stand For

Mission & Core Values

Every content decision we make is guided by these six values. When we get them right, the result is a site you can trust completely.

🚫
Editorial Independence
No brand can pay to be featured, ranked, or reviewed positively on this site. Affiliate commissions exist to fund our research — they do not influence which products we recommend or what score we assign them.
📋
Technical Rigour
Every specification we publish — peak amps, CCA, capacity, weight, compatibility — is verified against manufacturer data before publication. We cite sources. We disclose our methodology. We correct errors promptly when we’re wrong.
👤
Reader-First
Every article, review, and guide is written to answer the reader’s actual question — not to rank for a keyword or maximise affiliate link density. If the honest answer to a question is “don’t buy a jump starter, fix your alternator,” we say that.
🔎
Full Transparency
We disclose how we earn money, which products we have physically tested versus researched remotely, when content was last updated, and when we’ve made corrections. Our Affiliate Disclosure and methodology page are linked from every article.
📅
Living Documentation
Jump starters and batteries evolve. We don’t publish articles and abandon them. Reviews are revisited when products are updated, newer alternatives emerge, or safety recalls are announced. Every article shows the last-reviewed date.
Safety Above Clicks
We cover automotive electrical systems — a subject where bad advice causes real harm. We will never recommend a procedure or a product if we have safety concerns, regardless of how many affiliate commissions that costs us. Reader safety is non-negotiable.
How We Work

🔧 Our 4-Step Editorial Process

Every review and buying guide on this site goes through the same four-stage process before it reaches you.

📊
Research & Data Collection
We gather spec sheets, safety certification records (UL, CE, FCC, RoHS), manufacturer product pages, and aggregated verified purchaser reviews. For buying guides, we map the full competitive landscape of models available at each price tier.
🔍
Specification Verification
Every spec claim is cross-referenced against at least two independent sources. Inflated or unverifiable manufacturer claims are flagged and disclosed in the review. We check peak amps vs. cranking amps, battery chemistry, cable gauge, and connector quality.
📝
Editorial Writing & Review
Content is written by our editorial team — Jon Langston or Collin Morgan — and reviewed for technical accuracy, balanced assessment, and honest verdict. Scores are assigned using our standardised rating framework covering power, safety, usability, value, and reliability.
📅
Publication & Maintenance
After publishing, articles are monitored for product updates, reader corrections, and spec changes. Reviews are updated when the product changes materially or a newer version is released. Significant corrections are noted with a visible editorial correction notice.

A Personal Note

A Note from Jon Langston

“I started this site because I drove home from an auto parts store with the wrong jump starter twice in the same year. Not because I was careless — because every review I found either repeated the manufacturer’s marketing copy or ranked products based on commission rate rather than quality.

The jump starter market looks deceptively simple from the outside. In reality, there are real differences between lithium-ion and AGM units, between peak amps and cranking amps, between a unit that will reliably start your truck at minus twenty degrees and one that won’t. Those differences matter when you’re stranded. They matter even more when you’re advising someone else on what to buy.

When I launched this site — originally as Easy Jump Starter, later rebranded to Jump Starter Hub — the goal was simple: build the resource I wished existed when I was standing in that parking lot with a dead battery and a phone full of useless reviews.

We’re reader-supported through Amazon affiliate commissions, which means we earn when you buy through our links. But the moment a commission starts influencing what we recommend, we’ve broken the only thing that makes this site worth reading. That will never happen on my watch.”
